Description
This rug is from 1970. It takes it’s name from a city in Persia. They are easily recognized with their typical patterns and sizes. What distinguishes Hamedan rugs from other Persian rugs is their weight. Hamedan carpets are generally thicker and heavier. But their motifs are easier in comparison to Bakhtiari or Kashamr rugs. Unlike Bakhtiari and Tabriz rugs Geometric design are used less in them. Among individual patterns the Herati is the most common pattern. They are also produced with shiny and often natural dyed yarn that provides a very durable surface and beautiful colour scale. They are hand knotted by using Persian knots.
Every rug in our handknotted collection is a one off piece.
