Our Story
A not so typical immigrant story…
Barjis Chohan was heading for medical school but decided to enrol at fashion school to pursue a dream to become a Fashion Designer. BARJIS was est. 1999 with no money from a kitchen table with a big dream. Starting off with bespoke luxury rugs for the hospitality industry and then venturing into Fashion since 2011.
We are a multi -cultural high – end Fashion & Lifestyle brand based in London. Dipping our toes in Fashion, bespoke rugs, home decor and we love working with upcoming artists and creatives in our projects. Our work is inspired by travel, culture and heritage, with the belief that every piece should tell a story. We are the pioneers in high end modest fashion pieces with a multi cultural twist. We strive to preserve heritage, craftsmanship and make our work more sustainable (work in progress).
Barjis has been blessed to showcase at Fashion weeks in London, Paris and Dubai and invited to be part of museum exhibitions in New York, Frankfurt and San Francisco.
Our mission is to create season less pieces and accessories that leave a lasting impact on our customers and we hope they will keep for a lifetime.

SUSTAINABLE NOTEBOOKS
We all understand that fashion is a major contributor to climate change. Our notebooks are made from the off- cuts of our fashion and home textile fabrics. We believe in recycling unused fabrics to preserve mother Earth with harmful chemicals.
The notebooks are available in 15 different prints and every notebook is unique and one of a kind.
Bespoke rugs & carpets
Our rug journey started in 1999. Barjis Chohan was heavily pregnant with her first child and started painting. Being a practical person she knew she didn’t have the connections to become an artist. However, she saw a gap missing in the market for rugs that look like art. After giving birth, Barjis established the rug studio in the year 2000 and since then has been serving the luxury rug and carpet market for over 22 years.
Barjis Rug studio has worked on prestigious projects including Marriot Hotels, Montcalm Hotel, Japan Airlines, Landmark House, Emirates Towers Dubai, K+ K Hotels, and many more.
