I am delighted to be a Board member of Art Culture Tourism. It is a community interest company based in Beeston, Nottingham. I was looking for a board position that allows me to share my 21 years of experience in running a creative business, whilst still running my own businesses. I wanted to be involved with an organisation that uplifts our communities and shares similar values in thinking about ‘US’ and not ‘ME’ philosophy.
ACT is a fantastic organisation, whose purpose is to serve our communities and promote the Arts, Culture, and Tourism in and around Beeston and make it the creative hub of the UK.
They say you meet people for a reason. Recently, I was introduced to Marysia Zipser on LinkedIn. Marysia is the Founder of ACT. Marysia’s contagious zest for life, her passion for her organisation, her leadership skills, and her natural ability to bring people together from all walks of life; made me jump on board when she offered me the role of a Non-Executive Director of ACT.
The Year of The Roses
The Year of the Roses is a collaborative well-being project promoted by Art Culture Tourism UK and OKAY! Italy Schools Magazine. Its aim is to promote self-expression and bring the community together to celebrate nature and the beauty of our stoic flower; the rose.
We are asking everyone to submit their rose photographs or painting and what it means to them. You can submit your entry for free on ACT website.
The best images and stories will be selected for a major online exhibition, a book, a video film, and a light projection show on walls and buildings in a fantastic Autumn event in Beeston & Nottingham, the Land of Robin Hood.
Free to enter for anyone, all ages, individuals, and groups.
Deadline: 30th September 2021
